Mumbai, (IANS). Bollywood has found a savior in the recently released Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer ‘Shyam 2’. The sequel to Ajay’s runaway success of 2015 is running under the influence of a raging bull. The film is running to packed halls at Mumbai’s iconic Maratha Mandir Cinema, which is interestingly known for running shows of Ajay’s wife – Kajol’s blockbuster film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’.

In the era of multiplexes and OTT, a houseful single screen show for a film is a rare feat.

IANS has spoken to Manoj Desai, executive director of Maratha Mandir and Gaiety Galaxy, about the response the film has received.

Manoj told IANS: “It is welcome to see this kind of response from the audience for a film. It reminds one of the days when the magic of films used to speak to people’s heads.” ‘²Shyam 2’ has done what no other film has been able to achieve in the post-pandemic era.

While the film is living up to its dream run at the Indian box-office, things are expected to change with the release of the upcoming film ‘Bhediya’ slated to release on Friday. The film stars Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, both of whom have a huge fan following among the audience as well.

Manoj says, “Let’s see how things pan out for ‘Shyam 2’ from here with ‘Bhediya’ on the horizon. People will definitely be drawn towards ‘Bhediya’ as the audience is curious about the new film “

Will ‘Bhediya’ rein the bullet train of ‘²Shyam 2’ or will the initial loss of momentum turn into more kinetic energy for ‘²Shyam 2’? It remains to be seen as a wise man once, “Yeh Janta Hai Yeh Sab Janti Hai”.
